Contribution to Climate Protection through Waste Management in Shenyang (Liaoning Province, China)

Against the background of the conservation of primary resources and climate protection the project aims at contributing to the development of an integrated waste management and assessing its potential for the reduction of carbon dioxide equivalent (greenhouse gas) emissions in the Chinese province of Liaoning (42m pop.) and particularly the provincial capitol Shenyang, a rapidly growing so-called mega-city. The influence of different strategies of waste collection, treatment and disposal on the energy balance and greenhouse gas emissions will be will be studied. more...
